Abstract:
Case Study On Time Delivery and Multi -Channel Sourcing Engine (MCSE): MCSE is a highly scalable and efficient combinatorial engine that promises on-time delivery date to customers while reducing transportation costs. This tech talk, will feature a case study that discusses how WalmartLab’s technology is helping improve customer experience for Walmart eCommerce, while solving a critical supply chain business problem. MCSE ensures that delivery dates promised to customers are accurate and confirm to service-level expectations. It also ensures that every order taken on http://Walmart.com is dropped to correct supply-chain facility such that operational constraints and customer promise is met. The stack comprises of Hadoop, Cassandra, Multiple Tomcat clouds, elastic search and Kafka.
Bio:
Rohit Jain is Director of Product Management @WalmartLabs in Supply-Chain. He has an MBA and MS in Computing Science. He recently joined @WalmartLabs after 8+ years at Amazon.
Amritayan Nayak is Staff Software engineer @WalmartLabs specializing in outbound Supply-Chain. He is a Computer Science Graduate from IIT Kharagpur. In his free time, he enjoys solving combinatorial puzzles and hiking.
