California English Language Development Test (CELDT) |
Students in kindergarten through grade twelve whose home language is not English are required by law to take an English skills test. In California, the test is called the CELDT. |

California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) |
Beginning in 2006, all California high school students were required to pass a test to earn a high school diploma. The test is called the CAHSEE. Senate Bill 172, signed into law effective January 1, 2016, suspended the CAHSEE diploma requirement and the administration of the CAHSEE through the 2017-18 school year. |
