Title I, Part A
Purpose: To improve basic programs operated by local educational agencies (LEAs) by consulting with LEAs, teachers, principals, pupil services personnel, administrators, other staff, and parents; and coordinating with other programs under this Act, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 1998, the Head Start Act, the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act, and the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.

Reading First
Purposes: To provide assistance to state educational agencies and local educational agencies in establishing reading programs for students in kindergarten through grade three that are based on scientifically based reading research, to ensure that every student can read at grade level or above not later than the end of grade three.

William F. Goodling Even Start Family Literacy Programs
Purpose: To help break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy by improving the educational opportunities of the nation's low-income families by integrating early childhood education, adult literacy or adult basic education, and parenting education into a unified family literacy program, to be referred to as Even Start.
Improving Literacy Through School Libraries
Purposes: To improve literacy skills and academic achievement of students by providing students with increased access to up-to-date school library materials; a well-equipped, technologically advanced school library media center; and well-trained, professionally certified school library media specialists.
Title I, Part C - Education of Migratory Children
Purpose: Support high-quality and comprehensive educational programs for migratory children to help reduce the educational disruptions and other problems that result from repeated moves.

Title I Part D - Neglected or Delinquent Purpose: To improve educational services for children and youth in local and throughout state institutions for neglected or delinquent children and youth so that such children and youth have the opportunity to meet the same challenging state academic content standards and challenging state student academic achievement standards that all children in the State are expected to meet.
Title I, Part D - Prevention and Intervention Programs for Children and Youth who are Neglected, Delinquent, or At-Risk
Purpose: To improve educational services for children and youth in local and throughout state institutions for neglected or delinquent children and youth.
Elementary & Secondary Education Act, Part E - National Assessment of Title I
The Secretary shall conduct a national assessment of the programs assisted under this title and the impact of this title on States, local educational agencies, schools, and students.
Title I, Part G - Advanced Placement Programs
Purposes: To support State and local efforts to raise academic standards through Advanced Placement programs and thus further increase the number of students who participate and succeed in Advanced Placement Programs.
Title I, Part H - School Dropout Prevention
Purpose: To provide for school dropout prevention and reentry and to raise academic achievement levels by providing grants that 1) challenge all children to attain their highest academic potential, 2) ensure that all students have substantial and ongoing opportunities to attain their highest academic potential through schoolwide programs proven to be effective in school dropout prevention and reentry.
